When Marilyn Manson performed “Sweet Dreams”, the entire crowd was mesmerized and sang it together. The way the spacing looked from a distance was like the mosh pits were the number eight: mosh pit on the left, mosh pit on the right and, in the middle, was a small group of people who didn’t dare move. The crowd went crazy, with multiple mosh pits circling. On one song, he started a countdown from 80 and literally counted all the way to one! Then, him and his band jammed out. Back on the main stage, Stone Temple Pilots did their thing and rocked out like it was their last show. Fidlar played at the Coors Light Stage, while Marilyn Manson performed at the Kolas Discovery Stage. Punk rock will never die! They played their hits, including “21st Century” and “American Jesus”.Īndrew W.K. After, the crowds walked to the Kolas Discovery Stage to see Bad Religion. More and more fans showed up throughout the day, as acts kept getting crazier and crazier. Highly Suspect was on the Monster Energy Stage and they were awesome. By midday, Badflower, H09909, Fishbone, Ghostemane and Health were rocking audiences around the arena. The first few acts of Saturday Day Two were Dead Posey, Sick Puppies, Spirit Adrift and Parlor Mob.

The bar was set very high, but the music, fans and overall experience definitely delivered. Slipknot ended up playing 17 songs that night and finished with an encore consisting of “Spit It Out” and “Surfacing”. Slipknot hit the Monster Energy Stage in their summer white attire and jammed out to “People = Shit” among other hits for the next hour and a half, putting on a frantic set that had the entire park on its feet.

Staind then cleared the way for the headliner Slipknot to close out the festivities. The last band to perform at the Coors Capital Stage was Sum 41, who kicked ass playing their hits. Recent reunited Staind put on a fantastic show on the Kolas Stage, including Aaron Lewis singing beautifully and tons of fire exploding behind the stage. Many people ran over to the Kolas Discovery Stage to watch Halestorm do their thing around this time. Highlights of Day One was Dropkick Murphys, who got the crowd moving with their Celtic punk rock anthems and vibes. Fans were dressed in metal, gothic, and alternative clothing on Friday, October 9th, all excited to see their favorite bands. This year, the festival took place at Discovery Park and had a sold-out crowd, including huge headliners. This year we added some fantastic new people to the VC Team and I’m able to get everyone more involved in our shows and do more simultaneous projects that are spread out over time so there are things always in development and more people can be involved in finishing projects.Wow! Can’t believe this is the 8th year of Aftershock in Sacramento, CA. So you can see the real challenge is I want to make awesome stuff but it’s easy to underestimate how much time it takes to pull it off! (Cough Cough, Intercept!)

  • Crap! We’re late! Now this thing really has to be amazing! Let’s add text outlines and mask shapes too!īeing late because of high expectations makes my expectations higher.
  • Let’s add more features! Let’s add displacement noise and presets! We can make it!.
  • S#!T The plug-in is just not good enough yet and it comes out in two days!.
  • I Should make a trailer too! How long will that take?.
  • I haven’t posted cool stuff in a while though, This plug-in needs to be sweet!.
  • Man, my short film is taking way too long I need to release something cool now that I’m back from Star Wars!.
  • How do we continue to push ourselves creatively and build better consistency… I don’t know if we have it all figured out, but at least we are asking the right questions now!įor example : Here was my thought process on the Saber plug-in: And it is simply managing ideas and execution. The good news is we’re jamming on a lot of projects behind the scenes, but this year has been a very humbling and rejuvenating experience for me. Now, this plug-in doesn’t make light sabers or energy fx, it might not even change your life, but this utility we developed will speed up your AE work flow! Embarrassingly enough, the development began last year when I started working on Intercept! And while I am still finishing the VFX for my short, this new plug-in is done and so we’re going to release it! Is that progress!? I DON’T KNOW!! Some cool news to announce! We have just finished recording a horrifying new blog show with a frightening theme! But more on that next week!Īnother exciting development is a a new workflow plug-in for After Effects! Coming this week!
